ランチョンの名前の由来
ランチョンの店名は英語で Luncheon（ちょっと気取ったランチ）です。西洋料理店として1909年（明治42年）開業。当時は店名がなくても「洋食屋」で通っていたのです。ところが常連でハイカラな学生たちから「店の名前が無いのは不便だ！ランチョンと呼ぶのはどうだ」と横文字で名付けられた初代店主は意味すら分からぬまま有難く頂戴したのだそうです。お陰様で今日まで100年以上、大切に使わせて頂いております |
他の店で平日ランチの予定でしたが、日替りランチのメニューが好物のメンチカツとシーフードグラタンだったので急遽コチラのお店に変更しました。
店内はランチのピーク時間のため殆ど満席ですが、回転は速いようで注文して5分ほどで配膳されました。
・日替りランチ ¥1,200
揚げたてのメンチカツは、衣がサクサクで中身はジューシー。見た目以上にボリュームがあり、熱々で美味しかったのですが、できればカップスープが付くと嬉しいです。
