This is a Seafood Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) and restaurant located on the basement floor of Yamamo Plaza, a commercial facility directly connected to Izukyu Izukogen Station. It is operated by the local Shinkai Co., Ltd., which processes and wholesales seafood, including the product store with the same name that sells dried fish and other items located right next door, and Soba Temari on the first floor. The last time I came to Izu Kogen, the local open horse mackerel I bought at a local product fair was delicious, so this time I went for lunch and asked the person at the restaurant. I visited just before noon, and the restaurant, which has about a dozen seats, was about half full. Given the location, I thought it would be mostly tourists, but there were surprisingly many locals as well. At the recommendation of the staff, I took a seat at the counter, where there were rows of sake bottles lined up in front of me. The food menu includes 8 types of Seafood bowls and 6 types of set meals, with prices ranging from 1,000 yen to 2,000 yen. I ordered the dried fish set for 1,500 yen. A set meal that includes two types of grilled dried fish and Small dish of sashimi. After 7-8 minutes of waiting, the complete set including rice, miso soup, and pickles arrived. There are two types of dried fish, ``Toro Kare Mirin'' and ``Toro Aji'', but the flounder is surprisingly small. But the flounder was surprisingly delicious. It is soft and has the sweetness of mirin, and its taste is similar to the Kyoto lees pickles from Ningyocho Uoku. Both the dried horse mackerel and sashimi were delicious, but just being able to eat this flounder made me feel like choosing the dried fish set was worth it. However, I can't help but feel like I want a little more. After leaving the store, I immediately went to the product store next door and bought ``Karei Mirin''. If this was a strategy, I feel like I was caught right in.
