24.3.14 This morning, I had breakfast at Matsuya for the first time in a while. This was my first time at this restaurant. There is a parking lot next to restaurant, and it is a self-service store. I ordered my favorite Kimkaru Donburi (regular size) for 590 yen (tax included) and 140 yen for raw vegetables, and headed to a table seat on the road side. I waited for 4 minutes and it was served. The Kimkaru Donburi is a bowl of grilled beef Yakiniku (Grilled meat) in a sweet and spicy sauce topped with kimchi. The meat is just the right thickness and is just the right tenderness. It is juicy with little fat and full of flavor. The kimchi is just the right amount of spicy, with a spiciness that tightens the sweet and spicy sauce. The shredded seaweed adds a nice accent. The Kimkaru Donburi is 4 stars! The raw vegetables are topped with the usual white French cuisine dressing. This is delicious. And, wait, the popular sesame dressing has been changed to sesame and vegetable dressing. This surprised me! I prefer white dressing, but sesame dressing is also very popular among the general public. Is it okay to change the sesame dressing? Since I had the chance, I also tried the sesame and vegetable dressing. Compared to the previous sesame dressing, it's darker in color, less sweet, and has a slightly sharper taste. I prefer the previous sesame drink. It's such a shame that it's gone. I hope it comes back. (When I checked later, I found out that the sesame and vegetable dressing is being test-sold at 69 restaurant (3 in Hokkaido/Tohoku, 45 in Kanto, 9 in Chubu, 10 in Kinki, 0 in Chugoku, 1 in Shikoku, and 1 in Kyushu/Okinawa).) There was also a sticker posted saying that the free rice refills with set meals would no longer be available. What a shame! (After checking, it appears that this is only available at this restaurant.) Thanks for the meal!
