【Discovered a Coffee Stand with Light Roasts Open 3 Days a Week】
From November 7th, I embarked on a two-night trip to my beloved Karuizawa, filled with memories of my late dog, to enjoy the autumn leaves and visit cafes. I found a self-roasting coffee stand on Instagram, so I decided to check it out right away.
The location is just a 2-minute drive from Hoshino Resort's Harunire Terrace, heading towards North Karuizawa.
This coffee stand (roaster cafe) just opened in the Chikuma Falls area of Karuizawa, offering carefully selected specialty coffee with the concept of "coffee that resonates with emotions." They provide five types of specialty coffee, each themed around different "emotions."
To see if they had my favorite fruity light roast beans, I checked their online store and found that they sell single-origin beans ranging from light to medium roast. To my delight, they also offer a tasting set with 20g each of five different beans! ✨✨
I parked right in front of the shop and entered. The interior, featuring a large picture window, is bright and filled with natural light, creating a stylish space with white walls, a record player, and a big JBL speaker. ✨✨
Curious about the second-floor space, I asked the owner, who mentioned that they plan to set up tables and chairs for customer seating in the future. ☺️
The shop's name "undefined_" comes from programming terminology meaning "undefined." The owner, who is also a UX designer, chose this name to convey the idea of a space that is not fixed or defined.
Looking at the menu and beans list placed on a stylish antique counter, I ordered the Ethiopian Baturu Natural, described as having notes of "yellow peach, pear, and strawberry," while my wife ordered a café latte. We sat on a bench inside, enjoying the beautiful autumn leaves through the large window while sipping on the incredibly fruity and delicious coffee, experiencing pure bliss. ✨✨
I’m thrilled that a stylish roaster cafe serving delicious light roasts and selling beans has opened in Karuizawa, and I can’t wait for the second-floor cafe space to be completed. ☺️
