Saturday
For today’s lunch, I learned from SUMIdesu's review that the 'Agricultural Kitchen' offers ramen on the second floor inside Karuizawa Ice Park.
It’s open only on Saturdays and Sundays until February 9, during the outdoor skating rink season.
The hours are from 11:00 to 15:00, and they seem to close once they run out of food.
At the counter, I looked at the menu and placed my order verbally.
It’s a cash-only, prepaid system.
I received a number tag and waited for my order at my chosen seat.
After a short wait, I was served the special Chinese-style ramen!
The bowl is made from disposable foam, but it has a nice design that adds to the ambiance!
I'm not sure about the standard amount of toppings for the regular ramen, but the special comes with three slices of chashu, three pieces of nori, and a seasoned egg with menma.
This chashu is incredibly tender and delicious! (๑´∀`๑)
The noodles are medium-thick and cooked to a softer texture. I thought the broth would be light soy sauce, but it’s actually robust.
The chopped green onions add a nice touch!
The seasoned egg surprised me by being hot when I bit into it!
It was just before being cooked too hard, and its flavor was delightful ( *´艸`)
I thought I should have ordered the large size, but I was still satisfied!
From where I was eating, I had a great view of the outdoor skating rink,
and it made me feel a bit happy to enjoy ramen in such a spacious and clean facility!
Although it was freezing outside, the inside of the facility was incredibly warm.
When I finished eating, I realized that if I had gone a bit further inside, I could have seen the indoor curling area too!
Some blinds were down because of the strong sunlight.
When I asked the staff, they mentioned that they usually operate as a deli and close for winter, so they are serving ramen here instead!
That makes sense why the chashu and seasoned egg were so delicious! (*´ڡ`●)
I’m very satisfied—thank you for the great meal!
