I stumbled upon this place while waiting for the bus.
From the outside, it has a snack bar-like appearance, and with the 'open' sign, I probably wouldn’t have entered if I didn't like Thai food!
Inside, there were two Thai staff members: a male chef and a female server. Since it wasn't listed on Tabelog, it seems to be a new restaurant. The layout feels reminiscent of a snack bar.
The interior is very clean, with a flower on each table.
After flipping through the thick menu book, I ordered the Papaya Salad (JPY 1000) and Shrimp Fried Rice (JPY 1000). There are numerous items listed with photos, but unfortunately, there’s no lunch menu.
The sound of the fried rice being tossed and its enticing aroma filled the air. My expectations were sky-high! The Papaya Salad arrived in less than 5 minutes, and just as I was halfway through, the shrimp fried rice came as well. The service was impressively efficient.
The Papaya Salad tasted authentic, full of garlic. The sauce was delicious!
The Shrimp Fried Rice seemed to be less than the portion described in the menu book, resembling more of a Japanese-style fried rice. It was on the drier side, delicious, but if this were the only dish, I wouldn't feel satisfied.
Now, for the bill, a little hiccup occurred! One staff member (who could speak Japanese) said the shrimp fried rice was JPY 1300, so I showed them the menu book, protesting that it was listed as JPY 1000. They responded with a puzzled face, saying, 'Pork fried rice is JPY 1000, but shrimp is JPY 1300.'
I sighed; however, please correct the price in the menu book so that others won’t make the same mistake.
Despite the hiccup, there's no doubt that the food was delicious. It's a bit pricey, but I’m glad to enjoy authentic Thai cuisine in this location. It was a great meal, thank you, and kop khun kha!
