Located in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, I visited this café during my day off.
I checked it out after a late lunch, and found this café in the old Karuizawa Ginza area without any prior information.
Even though it was just before 4 PM, both the indoor and terrace seating were more than half empty.
(Note: Pets are allowed only on the terrace.)
The menu mainly featured ice cream, parfaits, and drinks, but unfortunately, there were no meal options as I had hoped.
◆ Kinako Kuromitsu (Soybean Flour with Black Syrup) - JPY 600
◆ Coffee - JPY 500
The soft serve ice cream was milk-based, topped with cornflakes, kinako, and black syrup. However, the amount of toppings other than the soft serve was extremely minimal, and the rich flavor of the ice cream overshadowed the other toppings. I could hardly taste the black syrup, which left me feeling unsatisfied with the dish.
The café had a pleasant atmosphere with large glass doors that allowed a view of the street, giving it a nice vacation vibe.
By the way, I think the terrace is a great spot for a break, especially from late autumn to winter when pets are allowed.
Thank you for the meal!
