Iihashi Tei never disappoints!
This time, I had a private room on the first floor for the first time. I really liked the low table and chairs. I also discovered that they have an a la carte menu, which was new to me. In the end, I ordered a course, but it seems like it would be fun to try the a la carte menu if there were just two of us. Despite the rain, they provided excellent guidance to the parking lot and even saw us off properly.
New Year's getaway in Karuizawa at Iihashi Tei
On the first evening in Karuizawa, we headed to Iihashi Tei in Oiwake. Since my previous visit was great, I came back again. We were the first ones to arrive at 6 PM. After being seated, we received an explanation of the day's course and toasted with some spumante. The chef is from Minami-Izu, and the seafood, such as tuna from Yaizu Port and Kinmedai (golden eye snapper) from Minami-Izu, is sourced from that area. While the ingredients aren't particularly local to Karuizawa, the dishes are delicious, so I will definitely be back.
First visit to Iihashi Tei from Karuizawa
Iihashi Tei, which used to be Oteru de Mikuni, has been relaunched this year as an Italian restaurant. After making a reservation based on what I saw in a magazine, I discovered that the taste, service, and cost performance were all at a high level. Recently, several restaurants, including NAZ, have opened in this area. However, I believe Iihashi Tei scores the highest overall.

I started my evening at Iihashi Tei at 6 PM, where the large windows were wide open, allowing us to enjoy the open-air atmosphere at the end of summer. Since it was a Friday and the restaurant was fully booked, it took longer than usual for our dishes to arrive. While the food was good, the loud voices from the neighboring table made the experience a bit uncomfortable. It would have been nice if they had been a little more considerate, especially for such a special dinner.
