In Karuizawa, there are three major restaurants that are notoriously hard to get reservations at:
"Folliorina della Porta Fortuna," "Restaurant Naz," and "La Casa di Tetsuo Ohta."
Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to visit Mr. Ohta's restaurant and have no connections there.
However, I heard there’s a directly operated pastry shop next door, so I stopped by "MANO" after lunch.
They use organic Criollo Amazon cacao imported from Tarapoto in northern Peru for their sweets.
I purchased a Madre Kankan (cookie tin) and Brazil Nut Cinnamon × Double Chocolate as gifts, and for myself, an Amazon cacao scone.
I only tried the scone (I planned to have a bite of the Brazil Nut), but it was delicious.
The shop has limited operating days, so please check their Instagram for details!
