This is a shop I visited while heading from Tokyo to the Karuizawa outlet.
After an intense shopping spree at the outlet and finishing lunch,
I was strolling around buying souvenirs when I noticed a shop with "World’s Best" and "Apple Pie" written prominently.
There were other apple pie shops nearby, but somehow I found myself drawn to this one.
During my visit to Karuizawa, I realized that in Nagano, they produce various products
beyond just apples, like soy sauce and grapes, and I thought they really promote them well.
Upon entering the store, I was captivated by the beautiful display of crescent-shaped baked apple pies,
making me eager to buy one.
I ordered the following:
◆ World’s Best Apple Pie
◆ World’s Best Chocolate Cake Pie
The apple pie had generously large pieces of apple inside,
and it was filled with custard cream to a delightful extent.
I hadn’t noticed, but it seems there was also tofu cream cheese in it,
which balanced the sweetness perfectly.
The chocolate cake pie was down to just a few remaining,
so I couldn’t resist and ended up buying one as well.
And it turned out to be incredibly delicious.
I took them home, and even though it was a pie, it tasted like
full-on chocolate cake, which was a fantastic treat.
I sometimes crave it and would love to go back!
