This is a Japanese confectionery shop located along a 1000m forest trail in Oiwake.
They offer sweets and drinks made with the kuromoji tree.
Currently, due to the pandemic, the eat-in space, including the terrace, is closed.
However, they have set out chairs and tables on the lawn in front of the shop, where we enjoyed our treats.
The kuromoji tea and kuromoji chocolate I purchased were refreshing and had a delightful, natural wood scent—truly a flavor that embodies Karuizawa!
I recommend visiting early, especially on weekends, as their sweets tend to sell out quickly and they close early.
