A Table @ Kyukaruizawa
Today, I am staying at the Kyukaruizawa Kikyo Curio Collection by Hilton.
I used the lounge from 7 PM, enjoying some local delicacies like Shinshu-style oyaki, nuts, dried grapes, and cheese while having some drinks.
At 8 PM, I headed to the hotel's dining area, "A Table," which I had reserved in advance.
I ordered a half serving of the highland vegetable green salad and a Minemura beef cheeseburger.
The green salad was exceptionally fresh and crunchy.
The Shinshu miso dressing was definitely delicious.
The Minemura beef burger had a meaty patty that was exquisite, and the addition of bamboo shoots added a great texture.
I also ordered the Shungiku Genovese and bamboo shoot fettuccine.
When thinking of Genovese sauce, I usually picture the green color of basil, but this sauce was brown.
After some research, I found out that in Italy, they don’t use basil for their variant but instead use beef with vegetables like onions, celery, and carrots.
The brown sauce, reminiscent of authentic Italian Genovese, paired perfectly with the green, chewy fettuccine, making for a very enjoyable meal.
It was a great meal!
