A Spanish restaurant in Karuizawa... "Jose Luis."
The building has a very pleasant atmosphere.
We had a course meal for five people, paired with a bottle of champagne and a bottle of wine.
The total bill was around JPY 20,000 per person.
The dessert featuring wine and Shine Muscat was delicious.
However, the overall dining experience, service, and value did not meet our expectations.
This could be due to the hotel next door where guests dine, resulting in a loud and chaotic restaurant environment.
There were children crying and running around (laughs).
It might be a result of the influx of hotel guests as the restaurant was fully booked.
We noticed that the oshibori (wet towels) were only provided to the hotel guests, not our group.
If your priority is to cater to the hotel guests, it might be better to not accept regular reservations...
I asked if we could also receive oshibori, and they said they would bring it, but that distinction was rather unpleasant.
The staff had a very unenthusiastic and troublesome demeanor throughout our visit.
They even refused to take our photos, which was a first for me.
I won't be returning to this restaurant again.
It was a great meal, nevertheless.
