This cafe is a standalone building located in a corner of a resort area in Karuizawa.
You enter by taking off your shoes and wearing the provided slippers.
Using disposable slippers is a hygienic choice.
The space is cozy, with only about four seats, including the terrace.
It has a homey and quiet atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed.
I was prepared to wait in line, but fortunately, there was someone leaving right as I arrived, so I got in immediately.
I ordered the following:
◻︎ Shinshu Shine Muscat Pavlova with a drink set / JPY 1700
This was my first experience with Pavlova, a meringue dessert that is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The Shine Muscat and Nagano Purple grapes were fresh and delicious, and the cream was also very fresh.
◻︎ Shinshu Prune Tart with a drink set / JPY 1100
Personal preference made this prune tart my favorite. The moist tart with almond flavor paired wonderfully with the tartness of the prunes.
◻︎ Basque Cheesecake with a drink set / JPY 1100
A moist and smooth Basque cheesecake with a great cheese flavor; it was delicious.
We shared and tasted a bit of everything, and every dish was wonderful, making for a fulfilling time.
It was a great meal!
