This is a stand-style shop located next to the Taliesin shop, and it only has outdoor terrace seating without a roof.
Perhaps because of this, the operating period is from late March to late November.
When I visited Taliesin in June 2021, I had lunch at Restaurant Kosui.
This time, I had a reservation for lunch at La Baie, so I intended to just grab a drink, but I was tempted by the large menu photos and ended up ordering food instead...
What I ordered was:
- Natural Ice Shaved Ice Half & Half - JPY 930
You can choose two flavors from three types of syrup, and I went with peach and Nagano Purple grapes for the season.
The shaved ice was fluffy and moist, similar to popular shops in Tokyo, and it was generously topped with a rich syrup that had a strong fruit flavor.
By the time it was brought to my table, the weight of the syrup had reduced its height significantly, but one bite was so delicious that I was completely satisfied!
I never expected to find such high-quality shaved ice at a tourist facility, so I was truly impressed.
The staff were friendly and had a calm demeanor.
Next time, I would like to try their hamburger made with 100% Shinshu Black Wagyu beef patty, highland vegetables, and carefully selected toppings, using no chemical seasonings or trans fats, and natural salt.
