Crowd-Pleasing Indian Curry
On a holiday at 13:15, I waited behind three groups.
I ordered the curry lunch plate (JPY 1,848) and a lassi (JPY 280).
This curry shop is located inside Hallelujah Terrace. I had visited another branch, Sajilo Cafe Forest, a while back, but I didn't enjoy basmati rice at the time and only went once. Recently, I've started liking basmati, so I ordered it without hesitation. The actual rice is a blend of basmati and white rice, but the basmati flavor is definitely more prominent.
Since it was a holiday during summer vacation, it was quite busy. I waited for a bit before being seated, and by around 13:45, they had sold out.
I ordered chicken and the daily special pork curry. The pork had a bit of spiciness, but the chicken was like butter chicken with zero spiciness. They provide hot spices, which I added to the pork to achieve just the right level of heat. The curry has a very mild flavor, making it quite easy to eat, and I believe it appeals to a wide audience. The naan was freshly baked and delicious.
Compared to other places, this restaurant felt relatively less crowded, and my overall satisfaction level was quite high within Hallelujah Terrace.

Chicken Curry & Lassi
While there's a long line of about 30 people at the nearby soba shop, there was no wait here, and I was seated right away.
This place seems to be the quietest in the Halerni Terrace, but the flavors are definitely on point.
Though prices have gone up since last year, I see it as a slight increase considering it now includes a drink.
There’s no spiciness at all, and it’s an Indian curry adjusted for Japanese tastes. For some reason, there’s never a line here. Promoting it as a Japanese-style curry might attract more people, but it seems many are hesitant to embrace Indian curry in Karuizawa. Personally, I prefer this over that soba shop.
I think this curry is just right for a quick bite at Halerni Terrace. The prices in Karuizawa are to be expected.
