【July 2023 Summer Water Trip Day 2 Lunch】
On the second day of our water trip, we set off for Tomica Kingdom in Tsumagoi Village, driven by my father-in-law!
However, upon arrival, we found a long queue at the entrance (^_^;)
We couldn't wait that long, and it looked crowded inside as well, so following my father-in-law's suggestion, we decided to head to Karuizawa instead!
On our way there, we stopped for an early lunch to match little Chi-chan's lunchtime.
While it operates like an izakaya at night, lunchtime was a cafeteria style where you pick your favorite sides and pay together.
Here's what we had:
- Kids' Curry
A little bit of what little Chi-chan left.
It was fruity and very sweet!
I had already tried a bit of the adult curry my mother-in-law had, and we thought the adult and kids' versions might be similar, but after tasting little Chi's, it was clear that the kids' curry was even sweeter.
Just a guess, but maybe there’s apple juice and grated apple in it? Since it’s Nagano, after all!
- Nikujaga (Meat and Potato Dish)
I shared this with little Chi-chan.
The flavors were well-infused, yet it wasn't too salty, so little Chi seemed to enjoy it too! (о´∀`о)
- Fried Oysters
I shared these with my husband.
They were large and juicy when you bit into them! ♡
They paired really well with beer (*/▽＼*)
When we asked if they had beer at payment time, they said they had both draft and bottled, so we went with the draft.
While I usually prefer bottled beer for its consistent quality and quantity, it was easier to manage the draft while feeding little Chi (^◇^;)
It was a great meal!
