During my sightseeing in Karuizawa, I visited Libisco, located in the bustling area of Old Karuizawa. The shop had a clean and bright atmosphere with a white color scheme. Just like the Ginza branch, I enjoyed gelato from this renowned gelato shop.
【Yakiimo (Baked Sweet Potato)】
I had it in a single cup (❃´◡`❃) and also shared some Le Lectier.
The yakiimo gelato captures the natural sweetness of baked sweet potatoes, offering a gentle flavor. It starts off cool and smooth on the tongue, but the richness that follows is surprisingly intense, with a sweetness reminiscent of sweet potato syrup and a hint of roasted aroma creating a perfect balance.
The texture is light and gelato-like, yet it has a mysterious depth that evokes a comforting "hokuhoku" sensation, as if the sweetness of baked sweet potatoes has been transformed into cream.
The Le Lectier was refreshingly flavored with pear! The change in taste was outstanding.
Unfortunately, I couldn't save a photo of the gelato (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`), which is quite sad... I hope I was able to convey the essence of the flavors.
It was a great meal!
