I decided to visit Libisco, one of the top 100 gelato shops, since I was in Karuizawa.
To my surprise, despite being on a back street, there was a long line! The exterior and the font of the signage are incredibly stylish.
I was unsure of what to order, but I went with a double scoop of watermelon and yogurt for JPY 750, paid via cashless payment. They asked if I wanted salt on the watermelon, and I said yes.
I thought I would have to eat outside, but luckily a seat for one person opened up, so I took it.
The watermelon tasted exactly as it should—refreshingly sweet! The added salt was a great accent, making me feel the essence of summer. The yogurt was also pleasantly tangy and refreshing.
Considering the location in Karuizawa, I think the price is reasonable for the quality.
Overall, it truly felt like a top 100 shop. The flavors were excellent, and the overall atmosphere and design of the shop created a captivating experience. I highly recommend it to everyone!
