In the eastern part of Nagano Prefecture, specifically in Saku City, I came in search of delicious chicken dishes at around 11 AM before the lunch rush.
But alas, the restaurant was closed!
No worries, I quickly redirected my plans.
In times of trouble, a local supermarket is always a good choice! So, I headed to the one that popped up on my map.
The store was impressively spacious. I rushed to the deli section, and to my surprise, there was a huge bread section!

I had to try the local specialty. Let's dig in at the E.I. space.
Wow, the flavor was rich, and the bread was delightfully chewy—much better than I expected!
- Beef Croquette Bread
Just as I arrived, they had a fresh batch ready, so I had to grab one.
It was quite filling and very tasty.
The parking lot was filled with luxury cars sporting metropolitan area plates.
I guess it's the perfect shopping spot for those with vacation homes here.
I also managed to stock up on some instant cup noodles for souvenirs, which was a lifesaver!
This is a great supermarket.
