I made a reservation by phone in advance and enjoyed afternoon tea.
On the first day of my trip to Karuizawa in July 2025, I got stuck in traffic and arrived at 1 PM... feeling exhausted as I headed to the parking lot. After a short walk through the greenery, I entered the café.
The beautiful building lifted my spirits.
I was seated on the terrace, and the table setting was absolutely lovely. I started with rose tea, which had a floral and soothing aroma. Adding rose jam enhanced its sweetness and made it even more delightful.
Next, I was excited to see the three-tiered tower.
The bottom tier featured savory items, the middle tier had scones, and the top tier was filled with sweets.
The quiche on the bottom tier was especially delicious!
The exquisite tableware and cutlery were charming, and everything was not only beautiful but also tasty. The view of the garden was stunning, making me feel like a princess in this enchanting space.
After the meal, I strolled through the garden (as far as I could go).
It felt like stepping into the world of Peter Rabbit, and I was thrilled.
I was glad I made a reservation!
After leaving the café, I explored the nearby Karuizawa Lake Garden.
It was a wonderful start to my trip.
