A colorful and cute shop for chocolates and rusks.
"Bon Okawa Karuizawa Chocolate Factory"
https://bon-okawa.co.jp/
It is temporarily closed for renovation.
*Closure period: April 1 (Tuesday) to April 10 (Thursday)
They will hold the Grand Reopening Festival and the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Church Street branch simultaneously!!
On April 11 (Friday), 12 (Saturday), and 13 (Sunday).
If you're visiting Karuizawa, be sure to check it out.
It's a stylish building with a large parking lot, resembling a tourist facility. I stopped by, curious about what it was.
Inside, there's a glass-walled chocolate factory or workshop?
It feels like a service area on the highway, with a variety of sweets displayed like a souvenir shop.
There is also a spacious eat-in area.
Having no prior information about the capital, who produced it, or whether a famous chocolatier is involved makes choosing products much more enjoyable.
There are too many people who love that kind of specification.
You often see it in reviews, and it can be quite tiresome.
While it's beautiful for chefs to respect their mentors, it's truly disrespectful to imply that customers should care about where a chef trained or who their mentor is, as if that alone guarantees deliciousness.
I bought various items, but since I gave most of them away, this is all I got to eat myself!
★ "Karuizawa Orangeette" ¥1,944 (tax included)
A French confection made of candied orange peel coated in dark chocolate.
It's a classic treat that has become quite common in Japan now.
You can find it in various cake shops, and I always end up buying it.
The slight bitterness of the orange peel combined with the sweetness and bitterness of the chocolate, along with the citrus aroma, liqueur, and cocoa fragrance.
You can't go wrong with this!!
It's delicious.
