I visited this restaurant after playing golf in Karuizawa. Since I was driving, I opted for non-alcoholic drinks. The location is about a 3-minute drive from Nakakaruizawa Station and around 10 minutes from Karuizawa Station.
There is parking available in front of the restaurant, but if that’s full, you’ll need to use a second parking lot a bit further away. The path from that parking lot to the restaurant can be quite dark at night, which can be a bit scary!
Dinner service seems to operate in two shifts at 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM. The menu is à la carte, primarily focusing on pizzas. On this occasion, we ordered two appetizers and four pizzas for three people. The pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven located inside the restaurant.
The pizza dough is of the Neapolitan style, chewy with a good amount of salt. The toppings range from simple options like Margherita and Marinara, which let you enjoy the dough itself, to more elaborate combinations with prosciutto, mushrooms, herbs, and eggs, making it hard to decide what to order.
Above all, the restaurant's ambiance, surrounded by greenery and enhanced by the lighting, is delightful, which honestly makes you feel satisfied just being there. However, the pizzas and appetizers are genuinely delicious, so it’s no surprise that this place is popular. I definitely want to come back after golf next time (and I hope to take the Shinkansen so I can enjoy some drinks!).
