During my business trip to Karuizawa, after having drinks at an izakaya, my colleague suggested we stop by for some ramen. This chain restaurant, which mainly operates in Gunma Prefecture, is newly opened and has a clean atmosphere. The restroom is spacious and thoughtful amenities like a "diaper changing bed" for families have been incorporated into the design.
Upon entering, I found the restaurant to have a relaxed interior with plenty of seating. The menu offered a variety of ramen options including "Shoyu, Miso, Shio, and Taiwanese," as well as an extensive selection of side dishes and set meals at reasonable prices.
As a late-night bite after drinking, I ordered fried rice, while my colleague chose the Taiwanese ramen. After a short wait, our food was served. The fried rice was fluffy and the soup was piping hot—despite the outside temperature being -2 to -3°C, I felt warmed up. I took a bite of my colleague's Taiwanese ramen, which had a spicy broth, and the noodles had great elasticity and flavor!
Since we visited around 10 PM, there were only about 4-5 other customers. However, my colleague mentioned that the place tends to get quite busy during dinner hours. Karuizawa has a local ordinance mandating a 23:00 closing time, but it would be nice if they could stay open a bit later. I would like to visit again on my next business trip.
