This soba restaurant is located near a park.
Being in Nagano, I’m sure all soba is delicious, but I chose this place.
I was prepared for a full parking lot, and I waited about 40 minutes after writing my name at the entrance.
There was one person making the soba, but three staff members were serving customers.
The restaurant is clean and has tatami seating available.
Regular soba is thin, but the inaka soba (rustic soba) is an extra JPY 30.
I accidentally forgot to request the inaka soba, but even the thin soba was delicious from the first bite!
The tempura on the tempura soba included maitake mushrooms, lotus root, sweet potato, purple cauliflower, plump shrimp, green pepper, and pumpkin.
The batter was not thin, so it had a crunchy texture, and the sweet potato was soft inside, making it incredibly tasty!
I also had the warm soba with hanoroshi (grated daikon), spicy radish, wakame seaweed, and thick fried tofu.
The soba-yu (soba water) afterward had a flavor I had never experienced before; it was nutty with hints of adzuki beans.
Next time, I want to try the inaka soba!
