【Visit Date】A holiday at 11:45 AM, stayed for 60 minutes.
【Waiting Time】None. However, it took 40 minutes for the food to be served. The restaurant was 90% full at the time.
【Purpose of Visit】Lunch for two with a friend.
【Reason for Visit】Visited based on a friend's recommendation.
During my stay in Karuizawa, I had lunch with a friend.
Since we didn't have a particular place in mind, I let my friend choose the restaurant, and we decided to try "Sandaime Koko."
This was our first visit, and the restaurant was already nearly full.
Upon being seated, the staff informed us that the food would take some time to prepare.
Since we weren't in a hurry, we chatted while we waited.
▪️Special Ramen JPY 950
▪️Gyoza JPY 490
After waiting for 30 minutes, the gyoza arrived, followed by the ramen 10 minutes later.
The gyoza had a rich flavor that was enjoyable even without dipping sauce.
However, the plating was rather messy, so I think this area could use some improvement.
It felt like a shame for such delicious food to be presented that way.
The ramen featured a deep-colored broth with bold flavors. The noodles had a nice, smooth texture, though they weren't very chewy.
Topped simply with sliced menma, chashu, and green onions, the ramen was tasty but perhaps lacked the impact to be called "special." (However, I believe the price and portion balance was fair.)
Since I was informed in advance that the food would take time, I was able to wait without any issues.
This kind of communication is very important, and I realized its significance once again.
It appears that the restaurant operates as an izakaya in the evening, and I would love to visit again if given the chance.
Thank you for the great meal!
