This soba restaurant is located about a 15-minute walk from Nakakaruizawa Station.
I discovered it on my way to the Harunire Terrace shopping complex.
It seems to get quite busy in the summer, but since it was winter (off-season), the restaurant was almost empty.
I learned this from the owner while chatting with her.
I ordered the tempura soba.
They source three types of buckwheat and carefully blend locally milled flour using a stone mill, resulting in a wonderful aroma.
The sweet and savory dipping sauce pairs perfectly with the soba.
If you visit at the right time, you can enjoy wild vegetables foraged by the staff from the mountains, as well as freshly grilled iwana (char) fish.
Although the access is a bit tricky, it’s a lovely restaurant.
