A curry and coffee shop located in front of Nakakaruizawa Station on the Shinano Railway.
Upon entering, the atmosphere resembles an old-fashioned cafe. There is a counter and some table seating, making it quite spacious.
The first thing that surprised me about the menu was the extensive selection of drinks, with around 40-50 options available.
As for food, they serve South Indian-style curry, with the option to adjust the spice level (for an extra charge). They also offer baked cheese curry.
Since it was a weekday, they had a lunch special. The curry comes with a salad and coffee. I chose chicken over pork.
The couple runs the shop, with the husband seemingly in charge of drinks at the counter and the wife handling the curry preparations.
The salad arrived first. It had a variety of fresh vegetables, and the dressing was seasoned to perfection.
By the time I finished my salad, the curry had arrived. The rice and curry sauce were served separately. When I poured the sauce over the rice, I saw pieces of chicken and some partially melted onions.
Upon tasting, while the spiciness wasn't overpowering, it was flavorful with a nice blend of various spices.
Then came the coffee, which was surprisingly delicious. The blend achieved a perfect balance of bitterness and acidity, with an amazing aroma.
At JPY 440 for the blended coffee, it was both delicious and a great value.
