I previously stopped by for tea while waiting for a train, and I'd heard that the curry was quite popular, so I wanted to visit again when I had the chance.
First of all, the interior has a Showa-era vibe, but it also has a coastal feel that suits the ocean well.
The name is pronounced 'A La Girl', which means 'near the station' in French. I had assumed it was simply 'girl.'
The curry is authentic, featuring a rich, spicy roux with an option for different levels of heat. I ordered the summer vegetable curry, which came with plenty of local veggies like goya and Moroccan beans, along with a lunch set that included a drink. A Chinese menu is also available.
