During my previous stay at Karuizawa XIV's Sanctuary, a friend who is a member recommended Chinese Suiyo to me, where I enjoyed a dinner course that offered excellent cost performance. So, on my recent visit to Karuizawa, I decided to have the "20th Special Lunch" for JPY 3500 (including service charge and tax).
Suiyo is located within XIV but is open to non-members as well. The interior is luxurious, and the service is good, making it a hidden gem considering the cost performance in Karuizawa. Just be careful, as upon entering, the left-side parking lot is reserved for Sanctuary guests, so you should use the right-side parking lot and walk over.
