It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Nakakaruizawa.
Since it's located in a vacation home area, the access is somewhat tricky. There is parking available, so it seems many people come by car.
This café is situated in a very quiet part of Karuizawa.
I casually dropped by on a weekend afternoon.
To the left, there’s a small forest-like area, which is nice. The ground is covered in moss.
In front, there’s a terrace. Just from the exterior, it has that typical Karuizawa vibe.
Inside, there are small and larger tables, creating a very relaxed atmosphere.
I settled at a small table by the window.
It seems the owner, a woman, runs the place by herself. It must be quite a challenge when it gets busy.
The menu isn’t extensive, but they offer coffee and tea sets with today’s sweets, as well as toast.
On that day, the sweet was a roll cake topped with cherries, which I enjoyed along with a hot coffee.
The roll cake had a light, fluffy texture and a gentle flavor, making it delicious. Its simplicity was delightful. The coffee was also very good.
I had a wonderfully relaxing time chatting with the owner and some regulars.
If it were in the city, it wouldn’t be possible to enjoy such a peaceful atmosphere, so I hope it doesn’t get too crowded.
