On my way back from Karuizawa, I stopped by "Koushuen," a yakiniku restaurant located just before the Usui Pass.
Since it’s situated near a golf course, the walls were filled with signatures from professional golfers.

There were some great course options available, but I decided to go a la carte and choose my favorites.
The kalbi had a distinct sweetness from the fat, while the loin was leaner and showcased the natural sweetness of the meat. Both were thick cuts and incredibly delicious.
The Horumon set included 200g of mountain chain tripe, high-quality horumon, and liver, all of which were fresh and very tasty, especially the mountain chain tripe, which was exceptional.
The kimchi assorted platter and choregi salad had generous portions, making them great for sharing among several people.
Overall, it was great value for money, and due to the freshness of the meat, everything was enjoyable.
The restaurant is also dog-friendly, so I might bring my furry friend next time.
