This is a dining report from my trip to Karuizawa.
I enjoyed a delicious unajū (grilled eel on rice) and shirayaki (grilled eel without sauce) at a reservation-only eel restaurant in the area.
The eel from the Kanto region is prepared by slicing it open, skewering, and steaming it for a fluffy texture!
It offers a different texture compared to the Kansai style.
While the prices might be a bit higher, typical of Karuizawa, the portion was substantial, and I had no complaints!
The sauce and rice were incredibly delicious as well!
The menu also includes various options like pork steamed in a bamboo basket.
Be sure to consider this place when you visit Karuizawa.
