I visited the Sugi Yohoen Karuizawa branch in Karuizawa Town, which is a famous beekeeping establishment.
I found this place on Tabelog while I was trying to visit a well-known wagashi (Japanese sweets) shop that turned out to be closed for the day. Despite the hours displayed on both Google and Tabelog, I had to leave empty-handed. However, being a tourist spot, I was drawn in by the sight of delicious honey soft serve ice cream.
Craving something sweet, I decided to check it out. Inside, there were plenty of honey products on display, so I ended up purchasing some as souvenirs.
At the same time, feeling the need for something quick, I followed the sign and ordered a soft serve ice cream. I was impressed by the polite service from the staff. When treated so well, it’s natural for my wallet to loosen up a bit!
I placed my order at the counter and paid using PayPay. The receipt is compliant with the invoicing system.
□ Pea Pollens Soft Serve (JPY 750, tax included)
The soft serve ice cream was generously topped with rich honey. The ice cream itself was made from fresh milk and was very creamy, and the honey was exceptionally thick. The addition of quinoa was a great touch, making it a soft serve that adults would love!
Honestly, the low score it received is likely a case of Tabelog magic, and it's a shame for the shop.
Personally, I was very satisfied. Please don't be swayed by superficial ratings and consider visiting if you get the chance.
It was delicious. I will definitely come back. It was a great meal!
