A rice cracker shop located on Karuizawa Ginza Street.
【Kushi Nure Okaki】 JPY 350
This is a wet rice cracker made from 100% domestically produced glutinous rice, featuring natural yam. Each location seems to have a unique flavor, and this one is Azumino Wasabi. The sweet soy sauce glazed wet rice cracker is skewered and topped with wasabi.
While it has a slight sharpness that tickles the nose, it’s not overly spicy. The sweetness of the soy sauce, the roasted aroma of the glutinous rice, and the refreshing taste of wasabi combine to create an incredibly delicious treat! The unique chewy texture of the wet rice cracker is enhanced by the natural yam, giving it a delightful stickiness.
Self-service hojicha (roasted green tea) is available in the shop, allowing you to sit and enjoy your snacks.
【Mukashi-zukuri Nure Okaki (Shichimi)】 JPY 530
This is the shichimi-flavored version of the wet rice cracker used in the Kushi Nure Okaki.
It has a slight spiciness from the shichimi pepper added to the sweet soy sauce base, making it very tasty as well!
【Mochiyaki Senbei (Salt)】 JPY 205
These rice crackers are made using Magic Salt.
Compared to regular salt-flavored rice crackers, they have a milder taste with just a hint of saltiness, so those who prefer a stronger salty flavor might find them a bit lacking.
【Mochiyaki Senbei (Shinshu Miso)】 JPY 238
These rice crackers are coated with Shinshu miso.
The flavor is not overwhelmingly miso, but rather has a subtle hint of miso with a slight sweetness, making them easy to eat. The crackers have a perfect firmness, not too hard.
The shop offers a variety of rice crackers and okaki, but since there are many locations, you should definitely try the region-specific Kushi Nure Okaki. The sweet soy sauce is used for the Kushi Nure Okaki.
