Although I was a bit concerned about the air conditioning in this old hotel, I found it cozy and warm even on a chilly winter night in Karuizawa.
The bar here was definitely a highlight for me. It operates quietly in the evenings, and as soon as I opened the door, I was enveloped by its moody atmosphere... it felt like stepping into another world...✨
I ordered two beautifully colored drinks that caught my eye on the poster. The bartender asked if I was okay with a stronger alcohol content when I placed my order, but I didn’t think much of it. To my surprise, the drinks had a much stronger alcohol kick than I expected! Having already enjoyed a few Karuizawa beers before entering, I found myself quite tipsy after just one drink. Realizing I needed to keep it together in such a serene setting, I decided to head back to my room (as I tend to get louder when I drink).
It was a great experience to visit a bar that truly embodies the classic atmosphere one imagines when thinking of a bar. If I get the chance again, I’d love to sit at the counter and ask for recommendations while enjoying a drink.
