While exploring the town of Karuizawa,
I stumbled upon a crowd gathering...
Curious, I discovered they were all gathered outside a cake shop.
The customers had an elegant, sophisticated vibe typical of Karuizawa,
clearly different from the usual tourists.
I wondered if they were perhaps owners of vacation homes?
A cake shop frequented by those who truly know Karuizawa must have delicious offerings,
so I didn’t hesitate to make a purchase.
This time, I tried:
〇 Banane - JPY 280
A simple chocolate sponge cake with banana filling,
covered with a thick layer of chocolate.
It perfectly showcases the sweetness of the banana, just as I imagined.
〇 Napoleon - JPY 480
This one looked so tempting that I decided on it immediately!
The crunchy pastry was lightly sweet, and the texture was delightful!
The cream had just the right level of sweetness, making it classically delicious!
〇 Le Galant - JPY 360
This cake shares the shop's name.
It tastes like a rich chocolate mousse,
with an incredibly deep chocolate flavor!
I highly recommend it for chocolate lovers.
*All the cakes were truly exceptional!
From any angle, it’s clear that this is a long-established cake shop.
It seems to be run by a couple, and with quality this high in a classic style,
those trendy 'Instagrammable' cake shops nearby don’t stand a chance.
I’ve found a must-visit spot whenever I come to Karuizawa.
It was a great meal.
