I visited "Music House TOMY Canada House" located in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture.
I had passed by the restaurant several times and was always intrigued by its lovely exterior, so I decided to check it out!
The Canadian house-style exterior and the warm wooden interior create a wonderful atmosphere. There’s even a stage in the back with a piano, drums, and sitar. It seems they occasionally host live performances.
Now, I decided to order the Salmon Sauté. My companion chose the Neapolitan pasta and a tuna salad, along with a blended coffee for dessert.
"King Salmon Canadian Sauté" JPY 1,400, tax included.
The salmon sauté comes with a generous side of vegetable salad. While the sauté itself is a standard salmon dish, the homemade aurora sauce was quite appealing. The tartar sauce is made in an aurora style. Rice is available for an additional JPY 200.
"Blended Coffee" JPY 500, tax included.
It was served in a rather unique cup! It seems to be the restaurant's original cup, marked with SINCE 1980.
The flavor is very easy to drink, with no overpowering bitterness or acidity. There’s a sign at the entrance indicating it’s made from coarsely ground coffee.
The master of the restaurant, TOMY, appears to be a former musician. Does anyone know him? (laughs)
