We use carefully selected buckwheat flour, ground with a stone mill and stored in a low-temperature warehouse to maintain its rich aroma. This popular Shinshu soba restaurant is located at the entrance of the Old Karuizawa Ginza.
Since it’s only about a 2-minute walk from a certain well-known soba shop with long lines, many groups likely switch to this place instead.
【Must-Try Menu Items】
・Walnut Dipping Soba ¥1,350
- This is seiro soba served with ground walnuts. I first enjoyed the flavor of the soba with the dipping sauce, then gradually mixed in the walnut paste. It was a great deal as I got to enjoy two flavors in one dish. Note that this is a seasonal menu item.
・Duck Nanban Soba ¥1,550
- A warm broth that soothes the soul, served with tender soba. The slices of duck are generous! Honestly, considering the cost-performance, I preferred this place over that certain popular soba shop.
Dogs are welcome on the terrace seats. There’s also a kids' menu, and I noticed many families gathered around the table together. Next time I visit, I want to try the maitake tempura soba!
