| Restaurant highlights |
A cozy interior filled with the warmth of nature. Enjoy French cuisine made with seasonal ingredients that change with the seasons.
Step into an extraordinary space that feels like being in the heart of a forest. At "Musai-an Ikeda," you can savor exquisite French cuisine while experiencing the changing seasons. The chef carefully selects vegetables from producers whose faces you can see, ensuring a personal touch in every dish. Each plate is a delightful combination of ingredients born from interactions with these producers, showcasing a playful spirit. |
This was my first visit, and I enjoyed the "Shinshu" course. Every one of the eight dishes, including dessert, was absolutely delicious. (I forgot to take a photo of the Shinshu salmon confit before eating, so I have a photo from later on instead.) This restaurant has been added to our list as a place we definitely want to visit again. For dessert, I had the THE Karuizawa dark beer, which I am familiar with, along with "Tamako" sake from Nakagawa Village. While I had tried the dark beer before, it was my first time with Tamako, which was refreshing and paired well with the food. The dessert was a chocolate cake that I tasted for the first time that day; it was a delightful treat for chocolate lovers, hard to describe as similar to fondant chocolate yet distinctly different. The restaurant features high ceilings, and the mirrored walls allow those seated by the windows or at the counter to enjoy the greenery outside, adding to the Karuizawa ambiance. The staff were also very kind and served us with great care, making for a thoroughly satisfying dinner.
