Authentic French Cuisine Delivering the Blessings of Karuizawa to Your Senses
Chef Onuma, hailing from Ginza Le Can, brings the blessings of Karuizawa to your senses. Enjoy a blissful taste crafted with carefully selected ingredients, including organic vegetables grown in our own farm at the foot of Mount Asama, fresh fish delivered directly from Sado Island, and the renowned "Chiyo Gengen Pork" from Shinshu. |
One of the highlights of my time in Karuizawa was definitely here at Primavera. Since it was a special occasion, I opted for the anniversary course.
The shrimp, which was cut only after the order was placed, was incredibly fresh. The contrast between the cooked outer layer and the raw center was delightful. And of course, the sauce was delicious.
The consomme soup was exquisite. The flavor and aroma were almost enough to make me faint. Just a touch of foie gras and chicken for the broth... I didn't miss a single taste! Bravo, chef.
I got to enjoy a variety of mushrooms that the staff had foraged from the mountains.
Oh, I forgot to take a picture of the fish. I was completely captivated.
The rainbow dessert was beautiful. With raspberry, mint, custard, and mango, you could enjoy each flavor separately or all together. I savored it slowly... The white part around it is ice cream. It was delicious!
The bread is made by Asanoya, specially adjusted for this restaurant. The butter and pâté were also delightful—I almost wanted to take some home.
I couldn't capture it well in photos, but the decor was very charming.
During this season, it seems that lunch attracts visitors coming to see the autumn leaves, but the evenings can be quiet. So, I had plenty of time to chat with the staff and enjoy a leisurely experience... it was a truly elegant time.
In the summer, they made juice from peaches, but unfortunately, there were no fruits to squeeze during this season. What a shame! I would love to come back when the seasons change.
I have posted more about this on my blog. Please stop by★
