The Tenhama Line connects Kakegawa Station and Shinjohara Station in the western area of Shizuoka Prefecture. This coffee shop is located inside the station building of Hamanako-Sakume Station, an unmanned station on the shore of Hamana-ko (Lake Hamana) along the Tenhama Line.

My first retro afternoon tea♡ I was happy to see Naporitan (Japanese-style ketchup spaghetti), and it was so cute with lots of nostalgic items on the stand. It seems the tanuki cake is by reservation, but they still had one, so I got to eat it. You know that nostalgic taste, right? The pudding was on the firmer side too, which also felt nostalgic. Both the shortcake and pudding we ordered for dessert are Homemade. The pudding was the old school firm kind. So good. Reading the menu, which shares the owner’s thoughts and strong focus on keeping things as Homemade as possible, makes you feel this is a really good place where whatever you eat will taste great. It made me want to stop by regularly and try all kinds of dishes.

The meat sauce pasta served on a Teppan-yaki plate also had a gentle flavor and was not too heavy. They also put a lot of care into the coffee, and it was quite good. For dessert, we chose pudding and hojicha (roasted green tea) pudding. They seemed to be particular about the hojicha and gave us various explanations. The pudding itself had a slightly jelly-like texture, but the taste was fairly good. The atmosphere inside the shop was also nice, and we had a lovely time.
