The popular lunch menu item is the hearty "Yoshida Lunch".
This is a deluxe one-plate meal featuring popular yoshoku (Japanese-style Western food) favorites like Hamburger Steak, fried shrimp, and cream croquettes. It also comes with salad, and even big eaters will leave satisfied.

The house-made akashiyaki (Akashi-style egg dumplings) is another popular item you should not miss.
It has a beautiful lightly browned surface and a clean salty taste. Inside, it is soft and gooey with fairly large pieces of octopus, and people say it becomes addictive when you eat it with plenty of broth flavored with bonito and kombu kelp.

I ordered the Hamburger Steak set meal. Served on a sizzling hot Teppan-yaki plate, the softly cooked Hamburger Steak came with Naporitan (Japanese ketchup spaghetti), French fries, a fried egg, and green pepper. It also came with miso soup, which went perfectly with the rice. I enjoyed a relaxing lunch while taking in the nostalgic atmosphere.

・Katsu curry
Old-school coffee shop curry rice with that classic yellow color. The kind that goes amazingly well with Worcestershire sauce. The slightly thick tonkatsu (pork cutlet) and the toasty smell of the breadcrumbs are just irresistible. The rice is not the firm kind that usually goes well with curry, of course, but this is exactly how it should be—so good.

The hot coffee is piping hot, so I drink it carefully. Next, the pilaf arrives, and I am excited to have pilaf for the first time in a while. This is piping hot too, so I eat it while blowing on it. The buttery flavor really comes through, and it is very tasty! It is a Large size, so I got to enjoy it fully.

・Spaghetti (Italian-style)
When it comes to light meals at a kissaten (Japanese coffee shop), Italian-style spaghetti really is the classic choice. The noodles were cooked just right, and it came with bacon, onion, green pepper, and mushrooms, and it tasted great! The portion was fairly decent and left me about 80% full. Spaghetti is also available in a Large size.
