About a 14-minute walk from Shimokitazawa Station, this shop stands along Inokashira-dori, run by pâtissier Frédéric Madelaine from Normandy, France.
They say you can enjoy sweets that bring out the flavors of carefully selected ingredients. You can eat in inside the shop, and the open terrace is also available.
Photograph:KM_ono
The shop name means “apple tree” in French. One thing that sets it apart is the wide variety of sweets made with apples.
Many people also get Takeout, while others spend cafe time on the terrace seats out front with tasty cake and coffee.
Photograph:amazakeくん
The signature specialty is “Pommier.” It is a hexagonal green apple mousse cake filled with the pastry chef’s vision. It has layered components, and its refreshing taste is said to be its standout feature.
They also offer original cakes and seasonal limited sweets, making it a place you will want to visit again and again to try different items.

Pomier gave me the impression of being a very carefully made cake, and I could also taste a hint of sesame in the bottom layer. The canelé did not have much of that crisp outer texture in particular. While I was enjoying them, regular customers kept stopping by for Takeout, and the shop felt clearly loved by local people.

We shared the Classic Framboise and Pommier. The former had rich chocolate and the nicely balanced sweet tartness of fruit, which made it really good. The latter, named after the shop, had a delicate texture and a fresh green apple flavor that was delicious. Both cakes were very good. There were 8 eat-in seats inside and 4 more outside.

A cafe run by siblings from the United States that specializes in Breakfast and brunch. They say the theme is the taste of their grandmother from Kansas.
It is about a 12-minute walk from Shimokitazawa Station, in a quiet residential neighborhood. They also have a warm open terrace and indoor seating.

Multiple reviews say that both the indoor seating and the open terrace are comfortable, so you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed mood.
The signature item is the Combo of "Grilled Cheese" and tomato soup. Fragrant toasted bread comes with plenty of melted cheese. It is also said to be tasty when dipped in the soup.
Photograph:qowillh
The “Egg Goop” is made by mixing egg, white sauce, and cheese, then serving it on toast. It has a gentle, comforting taste and is said to be a home style dish.
They also have pies and ice cream, making this a perfect place when you want to take a short break.
まんぷく丸の内OL
Another nice point is that coffee refills are free, so you can take your time and relax. The cafe has counter seats and terrace seating, making it a great fit whether you are on your own or with friends and want to spend a laid back day. The terrace is also recommended on nice weather days.

If the weather is nice, the terrace seats look like a great option too! On this day, I ordered the egg coupe! It came with rich white sauce poured over it, and eating it with the egg and other ingredients felt really satisfying! It was more filling than I expected, with plenty of volume, so it’s also perfect when you want a solid meal! The seasoning is gentle, which is nice because it doesn’t feel heavy even in the morning or at lunch!

A cafe near the southwest exit of Shimokitazawa Station. They named it with the idea of creating a place that gives you a happy feeling that shakes both your stomach and your heart with a “zukyun.”
Inside, the space is filled with Scandinavian furniture and plants. The open terrace is also decorated with lots of greenery, so you can enjoy your meal in a natural atmosphere.

Its easy station access and stylish atmosphere make it popular. It often gets crowded, so reservations are recommended.
The main draw is crepes made with house-made batter and baked until fragrant. There is a wide variety of crepes, from savory ones that make a meal to sweet dessert options.
Photograph:ぴよすけグルメ@東京
They also seem to put a lot of care into Homemade items, such as Homemade roast ham and pâté, as well as craft Cola and chai made with Homemade syrup.
It is also perfect when you want to relax with coffee, lemonade, wine, and more.

I visited just before noon on a weekday. By around lunchtime, about 80% of the seats were occupied! The weather was nice, so I had lunch on the terrace surrounded by lots of greenery! The galette was very good. It is also very close to the station, and I would like to stop by again when I am in Shimokitazawa.

The prosciutto and Parmigiano risotto had a rich cheese flavor without feeling too heavy, and I enjoyed it all the way to the last bite. The terrace seat they showed us to was as comfortable as a cafe, and it was also nice to spend time there while taking in the feel of the city. I would like to visit again for Special occasions such as celebrations and other events.

A cafe tucked away in a narrow alley about a 2-minute walk from the north exit of Shimokitazawa Station. Waffles are the main focus.
The open terrace with a wood deck and the large glass windows make it easy to spot. The space is done in natural interiors and has a warm, cozy feel.

The waffles are made to order after you place your order. They are known for their carefully made batter, and people say even the unsweetened waffles taste great.
They are baked to a crisp finish and have a light texture that makes them easy to eat. Topped with cheese, salmon, vegetables, and more, they are also perfect for lunch.

A recommended option is the set that lets you enjoy both a sweet waffle topped with chocolate sauce and ice cream and a savory waffle, both in half sizes.
The cute smoothie, with cross sections of fruit visible along the inside of the glass, is also popular. It’s a healthy drink made with fruit and vegetables.

The waffle was crisp on the outside, but so soft inside that the maple syrup soaked right in! I had the berry & cream cheese one, and the fresh tang of the cream cheese kept it light so I never got tired of it all the way to the last bite✨.The savory waffles looked great too, so next time I want to go for lunch~!.The shop also has balcony-like seats and terrace seating, which gives it a stylish feel!

It was very delicious. They offer not only sweet dessert waffles, but also savory meal waffles made with salmon and avocado, and I found them more filling than I expected. The inside has a stylish and calm atmosphere, which makes it a nice place to relax and spend time. There is also terrace seating, and on a nice day, eating outside looked like it would feel great.

This shop focuses on house-roasted coffee and house-made bagels. It is located on the first floor of Mustard Hotel Shimokitazawa, about an 8-minute walk from the East Exit of Shimokitazawa Station toward Higashi-Kitazawa Station.
The shop has a spacious wooden deck with wooden benches, which can be used as open terrace seating.

Open from the morning, it seems many people spend slow holiday mornings on the open terrace seats.
The beans are roasted in an American-made roaster, which is said to carry heat all the way to the core while keeping the aroma in the beans. The coffee is well liked for bringing out the unique character of each bean.
Photograph:こまどき
The shop’s signature bagels use Japanese-made natural yeast. They contain no eggs or dairy products, and are known for their dense, tightly packed texture.
The bagel sandwiches filled with cheese, tuna, nama-hamu (dry-cured ham), and other ingredients are also popular. They also come in an easy-to-eat half size, making them perfect for eating outside.
H.E.A8779
I went there on an elegant weekend morning. The weather was very nice that day, so I ate on the terrace. I heard this shop is known for its bagels and sandwiches. The smoked cheese salmon is highly recommended. I had an iced coffee, an Americano made with dark roast beans!

The bagel pairs fresh cheese with a mild flavor and a chewy texture that keeps you coming back for more. The Americano has the berry notes typical of natural process coffee and a moderate fermented character, giving it the classic taste of Ethiopian natural coffee. A coffee break at the terrace seats here feels like a real treat.

A bagel specialty shop tucked away on a narrow alley, about a 3-minute walk from the North Exit of Shimokitazawa Station. Takeout is available, and you can also eat in.
There are said to be open terrace-like seats in front of the shop. There are also table seats inside.
Photograph:シーウェイ
There are about 12 seats in total inside, but it often fills up, and it seems you can still enjoy your meal comfortably on the terrace seats.
The bagels, made with 100% Domestic wheat, are said to feel satisfyingly heavy even though they are on the smaller side. Around 10 kinds of bagels are lined up each day, with the selection changing daily.
Photograph:kurio0905
Besides plain bagels, they also offer ones with coconut, sesame, cheese, and other ingredients mixed into the dough.
For bagel sandwiches filled with roast beef, roast chicken, and more, you can choose your favorite bagel and have it made to order.
シーウェイ
It was a small bagel cafe, and the indoor seats were full, but there was one open table on the small terrace outside, so we chose that. The bagels had a pleasantly chewy texture and a gentle, tasty flavor, and they asked whether we wanted a half or a whole one. Not just the bagels, but also the colors of the tableware and the oshibori (wet hand towel) were so cute, so they are sure to look great in photos! I also bought some to take home as Takeout!

Aren’t bagels way too good value? They’re filling, too. Spending a day off relaxing by the window in the stylish shop, drinking coffee and eating a bagel, was just the best this is exactly what a day off should feel like. There was also a great variety of bagels, including arranged bagels with cream cheese inside, so I want to try one of those next time.

It was a stylish cafe where you could bring your dog both on the terrace and inside. It is in a quiet area about a 5-minute walk from Shimokitazawa Station. There are four kinds of Breakfast menu items in total, and while I was tempted by tasty-looking options like granola and banana toast, I went with the healthy salad and soup set.

With "monotone" as its theme, this place brings the concept not only into the interior but also into the food and drinks.
They also offer sweets made with black colored confections, along with black soda and lemonade. The industrial style interior pairs well with the dark toned menu, which guests say looks great.

One of the attractions is that the kitchen has a pizza oven, so you can enjoy freshly baked pizza.
In addition to classics like Margherita and Quattro Formaggi, dessert pizzas such as the "Cinnamon Apple Pizza" are also said to be tasty.
I visited right when they opened at 10:30, and the morning had a very relaxed pace! There is also terrace seating, and it has a great atmosphere on sunny days! I’ll introduce the menu item I ordered this time that I recommend most! My recommendation is the Oreo pizza!

I was looking for a place in Shimokitazawa with a nice atmosphere and good food, and happened to find this spot. The dim lighting and stylish interior made the space feel perfect. Most importantly, the alcohol and drinks were perfect too. The photo shows nama hamu (prosciutto) and a lemon sour. I forgot to take a picture, but the pizza was excellent. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This cafe serves food made without added chemical seasonings, so children can eat here with peace of mind. The open terrace seating out front has a casual feel that makes it easy for anyone to stop by.
It is located a 2-minute walk from Shimokitazawa Station, just down a side street near the entrance to the Shimokitazawa Ichibangai (Shimokitazawa No. 1 Shopping Street) shopping arcade.

The first floor has an open terrace and counter seating, making it good for small groups, while the second floor has table seating that works well for groups as well.
Right next to the terrace seating is a narrow alley. It is also nice to watch people pass by while enjoying alcohol or coffee.

Omurice is popular here, including the beef tendon demi-glace Omurice, which pairs soft creamy egg over rice with plenty of demi-glace sauce.
They also have a full lineup of dishes that go well with alcohol, so an All you can drink plan sounds like a nice way to relax and enjoy your drinks.

The weather was nice, so while we were saying it would be great to find a place where we could eat on the terrace, we came across this restaurant. It’s an Italian restaurant. I was tempted by the pasta too, but since I was wearing white and worried I’d spill on myself (lol), I ordered the Omurice. This demi-glace Omurice (JPY1,250) was soft and creamy with a rich flavor, and it was really delicious!

Even with some of the best value around, this place is particular about serving food with absolutely no artificial seasonings. The snacks are reasonably priced at from JPY480 before tax, and every one of them goes great with drinks. On top of that, the portions are more filling than you might expect, so the satisfaction level is high. Both the exterior and interior are stylish, with the casual and comfortable atmosphere that feels just like Shimokitazawa.

Located about a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Shimokitazawa Station, this cafe sits in the Bonus Track area, where a collection of unique shops gathers. It is a cafe built around a movie theater theme.
The compact indoor seating displays movie script books and pamphlets, and there is also a spacious open terrace seating area.
It seems they also hold gatherings on the open terrace where people chat with film directors. This is also a recommended spot for movie lovers.
They have craft Cola from around Japan as well as craft beer, so it is also perfect when you just want to quench your thirst a little.

One thing that sets this place apart is that the food menu, including hot dogs and pizza, is inspired by classic films. It also sounds fun to enjoy them while thinking about what scenes they bring to mind.
They also have popcorn, a must for movie watching, as well as canelés made with plenty of Domestic butter.
