Gontran Cherrier Tokyo Aoyama Ten

Gontran Cherrier Tokyo Aoyama Ten, about a 3-minute walk from Omotesando Station, is a café run by a Paris-born boulangerie.

The 1st floor has a bakery with an open terrace, and the 2nd floor has a café space where you can enjoy freshly baked bread and sweets.

The limited-time Monburan Sakura Ichigo (mont blanc with cherry blossom and strawberry) is a lovely dessert topped with cherry blossom petals, giving it a bright and springlike look.

The cake is made on a light base with a smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture, adding a gentle sweetness and a nice contrast to the overall texture.

The “Cloud Croissant Sakura” is a seasonal croissant topped with sakura (cherry blossom) meringue.

The meringue has a gentle flavor with a light sakura aroma, and the croissant is said to be crispy on the outside and pleasantly chewy on the inside.

The terrace feels great at this time of year (^o^) The staff were very polite and gave pleasant service! The canelé was pleasantly chewy and had a nice level of sweetness. Next time, I’d like to try the seats on the second floor too〜.

I visited around 4 p.m. on a day off. The second floor inside was full, so I sat on the terrace outside. I ordered a matcha croissant with anko (sweet red bean paste) and Earl Grey tea. The croissant had a nicely crisp texture and a moderate sweetness, and it was very good. The Earl Grey was also clean and refreshing, and it paired well with the pastry.

I visited around 12:00, and as it gradually got more crowded, I really felt just how popular it is. The terrace seats are open and stylish too! I had the No.1 most popular doughnut and the No.2 most popular olive bread. The doughnut was crisp and satisfying, and the olive bread had a mild flavor that was easy to enjoy, so both were delicious.

This restaurant has an open space surrounded by so much greenery that it hardly feels like the middle of the city, with a charm that feels just like a vacation home area. There is also terrace seating, making it perfect for days when you want to relax from the morning or reset your mood. It was so comfortable that it made perfect sense why it is a regular on the Tabelog 100.

Brunch in Omotesando (Omotesando). I went to crisscross, a place I had been curious about for a while. The first thing that stands out is the terrace seating surrounded by greenery. It feels so open that it is hard to believe you are in the middle of the city, and on a nice day it is a really pleasant space. Time seems to pass slowly there, and it makes you want to stay a while longer.

Both the atmosphere and the service were very good. This time I sat indoors, but the terrace seating also looked lovely, so I thought I’d like to reserve a terrace seat next time.

I was so impressed that I could have such delicious Sachertorte here in Omotesando without going all the way to Vienna. The apricot jam spread between the sponge layers adds a nice accent and pairs perfectly with the chocolate flavor. The person at the shop was a gentleman. Thank you for such a happy time.
