Abeno Katsu Sando Parlor Romantei

Abeno Katsu Sando Parlor Romantei, about a 1-minute walk from Abenobashi Station, is a retro cafe inspired by 1920s Japan.

The interior, centered around warm wood tones, has a calm atmosphere. There are counter and table seats, making it easy to visit whether you are on your own or with a group.

The signature "tamago sando (egg sandwich)" layers fluffy and creamy egg salad between thin slices of white bread in a mille-feuille style.

With one bite, the sweet flavor of the egg salad spreads through your mouth. They also say that adding the separately served rock salt brings out the flavor and makes it even better.

The popular "Herekatsu Sando (pork fillet cutlet sandwich)" comes in nine varieties, including aurora sauce, curry, cheese, and salad.

The photo shows the "Herekatsu Sando Demiglace." It is made with aged pork fillet cutlet to bring out its flavor, paired with a house-blended demiglace sauce.

The hire-katsu sandwich half lets you choose the sauce, and I picked aurora sauce. It also comes with an egg sandwich, mini salad, and French fries. You can choose a drink too. The smooth egg filling has a unique texture, and its good flavor spreads across your mouth. The freshly fried cutlet lets you enjoy the taste of high quality meat.

This shop is in the basement of Harukas, and the katsu sando (cutlet sandwich) is unbelievably good(*≧∀≦*)The tamago sando (egg sandwich) is amazing too. I always end up stopping by while I’m shopping♡You can get Takeout too, so I recommend it for gifts. The coffee and mixed juice are also really good, so definitely give them a try♡

Shinsaibashi Mitsuya Abechika Ten

Shinsaibashi Mitsuya Abechika Ten is a retro cafe located in the Abeno underground shopping arcade.

The interior has a warm feel, with wood toned decor and lighting in calm colors. There are plenty of seats, so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about the tables next to you. Easy access from Tennoji Station is another plus.

The popular menu item “Densetsu no Mitsuya Rice” is a plate that lets you enjoy three things at once: Omurice, pork cutlet, and spaghetti.

The pork cutlet is fried to a crisp, fragrant finish and stays juicy inside. In addition to the regular size, there is also a “5/8 size,” so you can choose based on how hungry you are.

They also offer a wide lineup of their signature Teppan-yaki spaghetti, topped with items like tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) and chicken Kara-age.

The "Ganso Kani Korokke Spaghetti" in the photo is topped with creamy crab croquettes and a soft-cooked egg. It is said to be more filling than it looks and highly satisfying.

・Shinsaibashi Mohikan
Horse mackerel? No, taste? You really can’t go wrong with the flavor. The sweet, rich sauce is the key. The straightforward way it comes out on a Teppan-yaki plate makes a great contrast with the funny name Mohikan ♥ It even comes with a cover to keep the oil from splattering.

Today, I had the Twins. It was still crowded even after 15:00, but since it took a while for the food to come out, I was actually able to relax and take my time. The spaghetti with crab cream croquettes and the Kara-age were also delicious. You can really tell everything is made with care. With a bit of everything, the Twins menu is a lot of fun.

・Harukas Waffle
The pudding is slightly firm and lets you really taste the rich sweetness of the eggs, topped with ice cream. Then there is the green jelly and plenty of sauce used throughout. A properly warm waffle supports it all. I had it with a beautifully colored melon soda (cream soda).

A kissaten (Japanese-style coffee shop) near Abeno Harukas. The interior is spacious and has a calm atmosphere. Since I visited at night, I ordered spaghetti, and it was very good. Next time, I thought I would try a dessert set with cake and juice.

The recommended Omurice is a simple style with ketchup rice wrapped in a thin omelet.

The balance of demi-glace sauce, egg, and rice is good, and it has a somewhat nostalgic taste. The salad served on the side is said to be perfect as a palate cleanser.

I visited for lunch while traveling. It felt like there were a lot of locals. The atmosphere inside was nice, and the staff were friendly too. The Hamburger Steak was hand-shaped, and the besciamella sauce croquette was piping hot and delicious! Lunch at a kissaten (Japanese-style cafe) really is great!

I was looking for a place that had cinnamon toast because I was craving some, and this spot came up, so I decided to visit. The bread was light and a bit firm? But it was the kind of bread I like! It had plenty of cinnamon and was very tasty!

Robī Raunji

Lobby Lounge is located inside Miyako City Osaka Tennoji in Matsuzaki, Abeno Ward.

While it has the refined feel you would expect from a hotel, the space also brings to mind a nostalgic retro cafe. With interiors based on brown and beige tones, it is said to be a great place when you want to enjoy some time to yourself.

The afternoon tea, with themes that change from season to season, is also well reviewed.

This one was “~Halloween Japanese Taste and Autumn Flavors~,” which appeared in the fall of a certain year. In addition to assorted varieties available sweets, it is said to offer a full lineup that even includes savory items such as “Aigamo (duck) and Fig Butter Sandwich Style.”

Hotel-made cakes such as shortcake, chocolate cake, and tarts, with selections that change season by season, are popular.

All the cakes are so good that I always have a hard time choosing, but this chocolate cake is my favorite♡When it’s sold out, I’ve tried all kinds of the other cakes too, and that’s how I found out they’re all delicious.

About a 5-minute walk from Abeno Station. Retoroto is a retro cafe that recreates the atmosphere of the 1950s to 1980s.

Once you step inside, you will find more than 100 kinds of local curries from around Japan lined up on the display shelves. In the back of the cafe, there are table seats and box seats, so you can relax and take your time.

At the restaurant, you can enjoy rare local ready-to-eat curries from around Japan.

If you tell the owner what you like, they will suggest recommendations like a curry concierge. The Hiroshima-san (from Hiroshima) "oyster curry" in the photo is said to be a dish where you can taste the rich flavor of the oysters directly.

The colorful "cream soda," "Homemade natsukashi pudding (old fashioned pudding)," and "French toast" in the photo are popular menu items at the cafe.

The "cream soda" comes in flavors like strawberry, ramune (Japanese soda), and melon, and is popular for its nostalgic taste that brings back childhood memories.

I was craving spicy curry, so I asked the owner for advice and decided on one✨You choose your curry, then decide the amount of rice when you order. For an extra charge, you can add coffee or tea as a set! You can also come just for the cafe! The Breakfast looked good too!

・Homemade nostalgic pudding
This Homemade pudding is one size larger than store bought pudding. One bite gives you a soft, smooth texture, and the rich pudding and caramel flavors are irresistible. The fresh cream and cherry on top are a nice touch.

Inside, the wood toned interior gives off the warmth unique to a jun-kissa (traditional Japanese coffeehouse), with classic counter and table seating available.

Their carefully selected coffee lineup is diverse, with options like blends and single origin.

The “Hawaii Kona” is carefully brewed by first using a paper drip and then heating it, and it is known as an excellent cup with a perfect balance of bitterness and a clean finish.

They offer a full range of light meal options that are great when you want a quick bite, including BLT sandwiches and mixed sandwiches.

The "pizza toast" comes generously topped with cheese and other ingredients, making it very satisfying! They also recommend eating it with plenty of Tabasco.

The jazz playing in the background gave the shop a nice atmosphere. I ordered the Strong Blend from the staff. The coffee arrived in a few minutes♪It came in an elegant cup, and the spoon was gold\(//∇//)\A nice harmony of bitterness and body... Yes, it was a little on the light side, but it was still a good cup of coffee.

The signature strawberry jam toast comes with plenty of sweet and tart strawberry jam on crisp toasted bread, and its simple, comforting taste really hits the spot. The cocoa I ordered with it had just the right amount of sweetness and went perfectly with the toast. With its nostalgic atmosphere and relaxed feel, this is a lovely kissaten (Japanese coffee shop) that will make you want to come back again.

Hoshino Coffee Abeno Hoop Ten

Hoshino Coffee Abeno Hoop Ten in Abeno Ward is a retro cafe with a calm atmosphere.

The classic, warm interior feels like a hideaway for adults. There is plenty of space between seats, so it is a great place when you want to relax and recharge on your own.

The signature "kamayaki sufle pancake (kiln-baked soufflé pancake)" is one dish that brings many people back for more.

The outside is crisp and fragrant, while the inside is soft and airy. There are three kinds of syrup: maple, honey, and kuromitsu (brown sugar syrup), and all of them go well with the butter.

The oven baked "Beef Stew Omurice" is served piping hot.

The soft, creamy egg wraps around fragrant chicken rice, and the rich demi-glace sauce ties it all together, making it so good you will not want to stop eating.

ジェンティ

・Beef Stew Hamburger Steak Rice
The Hamburger Steak did not have any browned, savory sear, and it did not seem to have a Homemade feel, so I guessed it might be cooked at a factory, packaged together with the beef stew, and then reheated at the restaurant? That is just my own speculation. The balance with the tender beef and mushroom beef stew was just right, and I enjoyed it.

I topped the pancakes with azuki (sweet red beans) and whipped cream, poured on plenty of syrup, and enjoyed them with a big smile (probably). I love the coffee too, with its nice balance of moderate bitterness and richness.

They offer a wide lineup of drinks, including "American coffee," café au lait, and black tea.

The "blend coffee" in the photo is rich and full-bodied, yet has few off flavors or acidity, with a clean finish.

The "Mixed Toast Sandwich" is crisp and nicely toasted on the outside, while soft and fluffy inside. The balance of egg salad and ham is just right, and each bite is said to make you feel happy.

It is carefully made, and they say it tastes great no matter where you start eating.

へるしーおいしーレストラン

A favorite spot to pass the time between work. I like it because it has a relaxed feel. I ordered an iced coffee and pudding. The coffee has the bold bitterness that Marufuku is known for. It wakes me right up in the middle of the day. The pudding is medium firm. It is mildly sweet and goes well with the bitter coffee. The strawberry and mint leave your mouth feeling refreshed.

・Pancake
The surface is crisp and fragrant, while the inside is soft and airy, with a simple flavor that feels somehow nostalgic. The butter and syrup served alongside bring out the goodness of the batter. Even on a busy morning, having a warm Pancake made me feel happily satisfied right down to my heart.
