Jikabaisen Coffee Kissa Roji is a kominka (traditional Japanese house) cafe quietly tucked away in a back alley about a 5-minute walk from JR Tenma Station. You can enjoy house-roasted coffee.

This was my second visit! The chocolate toast was just as good as I remembered, so I ordered it again this time too（>ω<）The coffee jelly was also very tasty, and when I had it with the ice cream, the sweetness felt just right. Bakery Cafe Iseya is a bakery cafe set in a renovated kominka (traditional Japanese house).
The two story interior is a quiet space where the sound of retro pendulum clocks hanging on the walls echoes through the room, and it has both table seating and sofa seating. You order on the first floor and then head up to the second floor. Takeout is also available.

In a word, it was unbeatable. The staff service, the atmosphere, and the concept were all so wonderful. The cheesecake was rich and delicious enough to rival famous shops, and the coffee had amazing depth. The Western tableware was elegant and high end, including Wedgwood, giving it the feel of a refined jun-kissa (traditional Japanese coffeehouse). They also had whiskey in assorted varieties available, making it a great place to enjoy a light drink as well.

The interior has a Showa retro feel, the kind that makes you think, this is exactly what a classic kissaten (Japanese-style coffee shop) should be. I ordered the katsu curry spaghetti set in a Large size. I am not sure if home-style is the right way to put it, but both the curry and the noodles felt comforting. The noodles were soft, the curry was mild, and it brought back the taste of something I had long ago, which felt nostalgic. The portion was filling too, and I left completely full.
