Kooriya Yukiboshi

Kooriya Yukiboshi is a shaved ice specialty shop in Hiroshima City. It has a good reputation for seasonal shaved ice that lets you feel the changing seasons of Japan.

This is the “Ao Meron Cream.” It is topped with a bright blue melon sauce, and it also has pieces of fruit inside.

There are also sweet kakigori (shaved ice) options you can enjoy like a dessert. The "Creme Brulee" is an appealing dish topped with espuma made from custard and condensed milk.

I chose yakiimo (roasted sweet potato) rum raisin because I wanted to try something a little different. The fluffy espuma of the rum raisin mixed with the yakiimo sauce and tasted great.

Chocolate espuma, with airy chocolate cream and rich chocolate condensed milk. Each bite layers on more chocolate sweetness, and you just can't stop your spoon. The chocolate mousse that appears inside feels like another little reward. A luxurious kakigori (shaved ice dessert) all about chocolate.

The signature shaved ice is "Yuki Ichigo (Snow Strawberry)." It is said to be a dish that lets you enjoy the fresh taste of real strawberries just as they are. It also contains plenty of strawberry pulp.

It is finished with syrup made from Onizarato (large crystal sugar), known for having some of the largest crystal grains in Japan. The ice has a light, fluffy texture, and people say the way it melts just right feels great.

This strawberry kakigori (shaved ice) was made by shaving frozen strawberries as they were, so it did not melt right away, and the flavor was rich and really good...I want to eat it again...

Unusual kakigori (shaved ice) syrups! Tomato. Lemon. I had it with strawberry syrup. It also came with condensed milk. I liked the lemon the best. There were several other kinds of syrup too.

ゆきそ

There were many kinds of kakigori (shaved ice), but a few of the popular ones were already sold out. I went with the kakigori topped with lemon, strawberry, and yogurt cream. かっしーみわ

I happened to find this shop while traveling in Onomichi (a city in Hiroshima), when it was so hot I could hardly stand it. Their non-melting kakigori (shaved ice) really did not melt. I had the orange flavor, and it was nice and refreshing. The shop was hot, but the staff were very kind, and all the other customers were kind too.

・Mikan (mandarin orange) Lemon
The kakigori (shaved ice) has an unusual texture. Unlike regular shaved ice, it feels more like eating shavings of slightly chilled dough. The mikan and lemon flavors both come through clearly.

capu:

I came to Kori (shaved ice), a shaved ice specialty shop that opened fairly recently on Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street, where you can enjoy cool sweets. It was seriously so hot outside that I came early, but it was still scorching. I wanted to cool off, but every shop was still closed. That was when I found Kori. This time, I ordered the strawberry milk packed with chunky strawberry fruit!

The kakigori (shaved ice), especially the fruit flavors, tastes so good it feels like you are eating the fruit itself. This time I tried the limited time fig flavor for the first time. On top of the ice was rich fig sauce. You could tell at a glance it had Tsubu-tsubu, and the moment I took a bite, it was that exact fig flavor‼️‼️The real thing‼️It was so good I could not help whispering, "Whoa."
