Kumamoto Prefecture [Kikuchi and Yamaga Area] Doughnuts!
About a 17-minute drive from Ueki IC, sanjin no donut in Yamaga, Kumamoto Prefecture, is a donut shop with a stylish glass-front exterior that catches the eye.
Inside, the shop has a natural space based on white tones. There are bench seats and table seats.
They offer many gently flavored donuts made with ingredients such as wheat from Kumamoto Prefecture, kibi-sato (unrefined cane sugar), and natural salt made from 100% seawater.
The photo shows the “Fuwafuwa Kinako” donut. Its soft and airy dough also has a pleasantly chewy texture, which seems to pair well with the mild sweetness of kinako (roasted soybean flour).

I had a sugar donut, a chocolate donut, and tea. The donuts had a light, fluffy texture, and the sweetness was just right. It was so good that it would not be an exaggeration to say it was the best donut I have ever had^_^

There are many seasonal limited items besides the standard lineup, and their cute look seems to make them a popular choice for omiyage (souvenirs).
GOLD0389
For a souvenir, I got the strawberry one, and I also had the custard one. The donut and the generous amount of custard were delicious! They will fry the Truffle Plain, Coffee Marble, and Kinako Plain fresh after you order them! It was a great meal!

The doughnuts had a firm dough and very sweet cream. The round doughnut was the kind you eat by dipping it in pistachio cream. It was still before noon, but some items were already sold out, and even though the shop was small, lots of customers were coming in.

I got glazed and strawberry and shio caramel (salted caramel) to go. I don’t usually eat glazed very often, but it was light and delicious, the kind you never get tired of. The shio caramel also looked really rich, but it was light, and the chocolate dough was especially good. The salted caramel chocolate and nuts on top went really well together. I’d like to buy it again next time I go.

The pistachio cream was not too sweet, and the slightly bitter chocolate dough was moist and fluffy, making a great match, so it was very tasty◎The chocolate one had a rich chocolate flavor, and the dough was similarly moist and fluffy, so although it looks big, you can easily finish it in one go(o^^o)

I tried kokuto donut bo (brown sugar donut sticks). They had a dense sweetness, and since they were fried, I could also taste the oil. They are small, so they are not too heavy. If anything, the sweetness makes you want more. It was simple and good. I can see why this is a Kumamoto specialty. The taste makes perfect sense.

Since I was the first to arrive, there were many kinds of donuts available. They were so colorful that it was hard to decide which ones to buy. There were also some limited to this month, and they all looked delicious. I also had a donut there, and the kinako (roasted soybean flour) one I ate was not too sweet, with a chewy dough that was very good.

I ordered the regular plain doughnut, the kokuto coconut milk doughnut, and a hot latte. (My companion had the lemon sugar doughnut and the caramel cream latte.) The doughnuts had a texture unlike any I had tried before, and even the plain one was so good that I finished two in no time. The hot latte came in a generous size and was just as delicious as the doughnuts.
