Mercer Brunch Ginza Terrace

Mercer Brunch Ginza Terrace is a cafe about a 5-minute walk from Ginza Station, with terrace seats overlooking Ginza’s main street and quality furnishings such as marble tables, creating a modern space for adults.

The open terrace has spacious sofa seating, where you can enjoy an elegant time.

The popular choice is the brunch set, which comes with French toast, a main, salad, and a drink. You can choose the main from fish, meat, or vegetable dishes.

The French toast, made with custom brioche, is crisp on the outside and moist inside. People also like the satisfying bite that comes from its thick cut.

The afternoon tea, whose contents change with the seasons, is also recommended. Their signature French toast appears in a Special version tailored to that time of year.

The spread features visually bright sweets and savory items with a good balance of sweetness and saltiness, and reviews say it is highly satisfying and well regarded.

・French toast
The 'French toast' comes with 2 slices. It comes with honey by default, and the French toast is incredibly fluffy and soaked all the way through. It has a nice sweetness and tastes really good. Maybe because they cook it slowly at a low temperature, it has an almost half-cooked rare texture that tastes amazingly good‼️

The food is consistently good across the board, and the stylish presentation really lifts your mood. Overall, the portions are on the lighter side, so it feels just right for people who want to enjoy a lighter meal. What stood out most was the French toast style dessert. It was crisp on the outside and moist inside, with a solid sweetness that made it very satisfying.

VINEFRU Ginza

VINEFRU Ginza is a cafe about a 7-minute walk from Ginza-itchome Station, tucked into a corner of Kobikicho Nakadori, and its top recommendation is creative kakigori (shaved ice) made with house-made fruit vinegar and fluffy espuma.

It also has open terrace counter seats, where you can spend a pleasant time while looking out at the scenery outside.

A popular choice is the “kinako (roasted soybean flour) and gyuhi (soft mochi) kakigori (shaved ice).” This dish features fluffy shaved ice topped generously with chewy gyuhi and a house-blended kinako.

Azuki beans from Hokkaido, black soybeans, and black sesame cookies add nice texture. You can also enjoy changing up the flavor with the matcha sauce and kuromitsu (brown sugar syrup) served on the side.

The rice flour pancakes are also recommended. The "Ichigo (strawberry) to Pistachio Espuma Pancakes" in the photo are a gorgeous plate topped with strawberries and rich pistachio espuma.

Inside is strawberry confiture, giving it a taste where a fresh tang spreads through the sweetness.

・Rihei-guri (Japanese chestnut variety) shaved ice
It was so good! It came with plenty of Mont Blanc cream, and inside there was also hojicha (roasted green tea) cream, kuromame (black soybeans), salted walnuts, and lots more. The salted walnuts are especially great. They add an unexpected twist among the sweetness. It kind of feels like having shiokombu (salted kombu kelp) in anmitsu!? Well, not exactly... but that sweet and lightly salty balance, plus the crunchy texture, works really well.

魚介だし

・Katsuo butter
The katsuobushi-like half-dried bonito has such an unusual aura just from the look of it lol. This is a sweet-and-salty, meal-like shaved ice with the mellow butter flavor gently spreading in your mouth together with the taste of katsuo (bonito). You might expect the butter to give it a Western-style finish, but the inside has a Japanese-style build, and the kuromame (black soybeans) stand out as a nice palate-cleansing oasis.

Aux Bacchanales Ginza

Aux Bacchanales Ginza is a cafe located along Miyuki-dori, a 2-minute walk from Ginza Station. With the concept of bringing French everyday food culture to Japan, it incorporates French style throughout.

The place has an atmosphere that makes you feel as if you were at a local cafe in France, and the open terrace seating where you can relax is another big draw.

The menu has a full lineup of classic French dishes, including croque monsieur and quiche. Among them, the omelet and onion gratin soup are said to be especially popular.

The omelet gently spills out when you cut into it with a knife, and the onion gratin soup is well known for its rich flavor with the deep taste of cheese standing out.

The sweets, including tarts and cakes, are also well liked, with a wide variety to choose from. The staff bring sample items to the table, so choosing is part of the fun.

The "lemon tart" in the photo is said to have an excellent balance of sweetness and acidity, with a refined taste. It also pairs well with coffee.

Even at the in-between time of 3 p.m., it was nice to be able to enjoy solid dishes like onion gratin soup and omelets. I appreciated that it was more than just a cafe and had the range to serve a proper meal. I had wanted to try the onion gratin soup, with its layers of melted cheese, at least once for quite a while.

This time, I had the "ichigo no taruto (strawberry tart)," lavishly topped with bright red strawberries. The balance of the crisp tart crust, the sweet-tart strawberries, and the refined custard was just right, and every bite brought a little happiness. The fresh aroma of the herb tea I paired with it gently brought out the tart’s sweetness.

Eggs 'n Things Ginza Ten

Eggs 'n Things Ginza Ten is a cafe located on the 4th floor of "ONE GINZA," right by Ginza-itchome Station. This popular shop was founded in Hawaii in 1974 and serves hearty meals centered on pancakes all day.

The wood toned interior has a bright Hawaiian feel. It also has open terrace seating with a view of the streets of Ginza.

The classic "Strawberry, Whipped Cream and Macadamia Nut Pancakes" is a plate served with strawberries, macadamia nuts, and plenty of whipped cream.

The light cream makes it easy to eat, and you can also enjoy changing up the flavor with guava, coconut, and maple sauces.

The photo shows the "Smoked Salmon and Avocado Eggs Benedict." A soft poached egg is layered with a special hollandaise sauce, creating a rich taste.

It comes with potatoes on the side, making it a satisfying plate. It is also known as a good menu choice for brunch.

What I ordered this time was eggs Benedict and poke. I ordered the poke without rice. The eggs Benedict had that reliably good taste, with a Creamy yolk and a rich sauce in just the right balance, and it was not too heavy even in the morning. The poke was made with fresh ingredients, and while it was light, it was still satisfying, making it a very well balanced breakfast combo.

When the pancakes arrived, they looked even more filling than in the photos. Still, the cream was not too sweet and went perfectly with the pancakes, and with plenty of guava, coconut, and maple syrup to switch up the flavor. Irresistible.

The restaurant mainly serves traditional British dishes such as fish and chips and gin and tonics. The “English Garden Salad” in the photo is a bright and colorful dish decorated with edible flowers.

It also comes with fruit, and the carrot dressing gives it a light and refreshing taste.

The "Classic Style Scones" are also a popular menu item. They are made with whole wheat flour and served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.

They are crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. It is recommended to enjoy them with plenty of clotted cream.

We ordered scones and café au lait. There was so much clotted cream and jam that we still had some left even after putting it on two scones, which was a nice surprise♡ The scones were also more fragrant and tasty than we expected.
